Centex Homes reports 10 sales in 14 days

Date: 06/12/2008

There are still home buyers left on the Central Coast, and Centex Homes has found them. The company recently sold 10 homes in the Briar Creek and Dove Creek neighborhoods in Lompoc.

"I believe our current sales pace clearly demonstrates that there is a market for well-priced homes in attractive neighborhoods," Rhonda Scangarello, director of sales for Centex Homes, said in a press release.

"We have completely sold out our Dove Creek neighborhood, and have only eight homes remaining at Briar Creek in Lompoc," she continued. "No one is saying that the market correction is over, but it is obvious that home buyers have seen the value in these neighborhoods and have made the decision that the time is right for a purchase."

According to Centex, this reaffirms the recent U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development report indicating that nationwide, new single-family homes sold in April increased 3.3 percent over sales in March.

According to the California Association of Realtors, the supply of unsold inventory homes (new and resale) is 6.2 months in San Luis Obispo County and 7.3 months in Santa Barbara County.

Briar Creek in Lompoc offers traditional single-family detached three- and four-bedroom homes starting at $360,000. For more information, call 740-9183.
